What do I do? Now, there's a question.
Social Photography
'Social Photography' makes up about two thirds of my output, and is usually taken to mean Portraits, Weddings, Portfolios, Family Pictures, that sort of thing. Most ‘Social’ photography is portraiture of one kind or another; even Wedding photography is really a series of portraits. Then, within that general area, I suppose I'm best known for my Weddings - but it's not all that I do.
Portraits
When you hear ‘Portraits’ do you think…Studio. Lights. Panic?
I suppose it is one way of doing it, but it’s not the only way. I mean, it’s not difficult to understand that we’re likely to be more relaxed when we’re not staring into the camera’s beady eye, surrounded by all my stuff. Instead of that, I could come to you.
We could do it at your place, surrounded by your stuff…
Or we could go to your favourite beauty spot…
Or the local park – kids love being photographed playing on swings and slides and such…
Or doing what interests you!
Or whatever. This is my natural way of working and past clients tell me that they enjoy how I do what I do, and if it sounds like your kind of thing – call me.
P.R. (Public Relations AKA Publicity)
"PR" covers a lot of ground and pretty much means telling people about who you are and what you do. It’s an area in which I’ve worked for about as long as I’ve been paid to take photographs, though it may not be something with which you associate me.
I've worked with nationally known companies, sporting groups, charities, celebrities, politicians, T.V advertising, lots of work for local councils - you've probably seen my work without realising it. So...
Are you connected with a company or an event or any group that you want to bring to the attention of a wider audience?
If you are and you do, check my "PR" page and call me.
Digital Manipulation
This is an area of growing interest and it is an extremely flexible and capable tool. So long as you bear in mind that it is not the answer to every problem, you will probably be pleasantly surprised.
Whether mother shut her eyes and can I open them, or cousin Betty couldn’t be at the Wedding – can I put her in?
Can I clean up this grotty old picture of your granny or can I take you out of that group shot and give you a different background?
Something less dramatic, perhaps – the colours are a bit funny or my eyes are red or there’s a big gap between us…
You get the idea, and I’m sure you can come up with some more of your own.
Take a look at the 'Digital Fix' photo gallery for just a few of the things I can do for you.
